How I help:

First, I take the time to get to know you and your unique story. I truly want to understand what makes you YOU — what events in your life have shaped you the most, the beliefs you carry about yourself, what fears hold you back from changing, etc — in order to get a holistic understanding of who you are.

From there, we’ll typically work towards emotional regulation, meaning, I’ll help you build skills to make unpleasant feelings (overwhelm, anxiety, fear, etc) feel less severe and more manageable.

Next, we’ll explore your thought patterns and internal struggles on a deeper level, using past or present challenges as the starting point.

Then, using compassion-based and integrative techniques, I’ll help you challenge these thought patterns, create new habits, learn new ways to relate to your struggles or the parts of yourself you dislike, and help you slowly build an internal and external world that feels amazing to exist in.

My Approach:

I take a humanistic, person-centered approach, meaning our work together is collaborative, compassionate, and centered on your unique story and goals. I like to tell my clients that, for sessions, they’re in the drivers seat (sharing experiences/pain points/triumphs or struggles from the week) and I’m their co-pilot, gently guiding them in the direction that’s going to be most helpful for their growth, and towards their ideal destination.

I deeply value the relationship we share, and will never make sessions feel stuffy! I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, which means that I will show up authentically as well — lively, expressive, sometimes playful, and always heart-centered. Sessions will often feel like speaking with a trusted friend, and there is no topic that is off limits.

I draw from narrative therapy, mindfulness-based practices, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parts work, and attachment-informed approaches to help you deepen self-awareness, regulate emotions, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I also firmly believe that healing doesn’t always have to feel so heavy. Although growth is challenging, I’ll help you navigate any resistance, and we’ll work towards implementing small, actionable steps at a pace that feels comfortable to you.

We’ll work well together if…

You feel ready to create real change, and to begin taking small, sustainable steps forward at a pace that feels comfortable to you.

You’re comfortable with a person-centered approach, meaning you’re comfortable leading the conversation — bringing in what’s alive for you and on your heart — while I follow your lead, guiding the process with curiosity and care.

You’re open to thoughtful feedback. I’ll always meet you with empathy and care, but I’ll also share honest reflections when it feels supportive to your growth.

You’re open-minded when it comes to coping skills or new, supportive tools, and are interested in implementing any tool that could promote your healing.

You’re not experiencing severe or acute mental health symptoms such as suicidality, extreme mood changes, hallucinations, delusions, active self-harm, or paranoia. That would require a higher level of care than I am able to provide through telehealth alone.
